I used to live in Dallas and always recommend the Mansion but for something less expensive I like to stay at the Stoneleigh in Uptown and Hotel ZaZa has the hip vibe going and a great restaurant if you are "cool" enough to get a table. Downtown I like the Adolphus - nothing better then their rooms and monster beds. I don't recommend staying any place other than Uptown or Downtown when in Dallas - unless you like the suburbs.

The Adolphus, hands down. I don't know if it's "the most beautiful building west of Venice", but it is surely the best hotel in Dallas! For service, dining, and sheer opulence, it cannot be beat. Rivals the St. Francis in San Francisco.

Hilton Anatole
2201 Stemmons Freeway
Dallas, TX

The new Palomar Hotel is the new place to be seen in Dallas. They are the friendliest, most courteous and best located hotel in Dallas and it just happens to be the coolest, hippest place to stay and relax in amazing rooms. It's a killer combo !

The Melrose on Oak Lawn
This hotel has style and class, the lobby bar is a great place to relax and have a few drinks before heading downtown or uptown, great location and excellent staff.
