New Biometric Screening for UK Domestic Flights

New Security Measure at London Heathrow Terminal 1
The British Airports Authority (BAA) has introduced biometric fingerprinting for all passengers connecting onto UK domestic flights at London Heathrow Terminal 1. Any customer flying into another Heathrow terminal before transferring to a domestic flight at Terminal 1 will also be affected. The process involves a fingerprint scan and a digital photograph for identity confirmation at the boarding gate. The BAA adds that no personal information is kept on file, as all records are deleted from the system after flight departure.
What are your thoughts on getting fingerprinted at the airport?

The more we live in fear by subjugating ourselves to such measures as fingerprinting, the more we allow ourselves to become enslaved. The price of liberty is high, but well worth - regardless of the cost

It is not something I am comfortable with. It is unfortunate the world we live in but I do not believe that labeling us all and carding us is worth the price. We are already treated like cattle by the airlines as it is. I feel that having my biometric information in a database out there is dangerous. I think that anyone who thinks it is ok is delusional as one by one , our liberties are being stripped away. There are cameras everywhere! They have not helped to do anything other than watch us. They did nothing to prevent the London Bombings or the train bombings in Spain, and all they did on 9/11 was show us who went on a plane.
The Media gives us i-reports now, where regular people carry around cameras on the off chance that somethign would Hopefully!!! happen aroudn them that they can take ictures of it and get on the news. I wish to god that everyone would wake up and stop taking this lying down. This is very serious. but if you would rather pay attention to what colour Britney's underwear is this week and vote on who your favorite singer on american idol is rather then choose who to run this country then I guess we deserve it. It's very sad though... That deposits my 2 cents. God's peace to all!

There is no system that can't be beaten. The harder the system is to break, the smarter the criminals become. Fingerprints can be copied, or soon will be, that can "fool" the scanners. It just makes it much harder to prove your innocence. If someone copies your finger print and does something untoward, you get arrested. You are forced to go to great expense to prove your innocence. The authorities simply say “How do you explain your fingerprints being used”? You can’t prove someone stole your fingerprints, so the best you can do is raise the possibility of reasonable doubt. If you don’t have an “Iron Clad Alibi”, you have a long expensive road to go.
