What Do You Need to Do to Get a Passport?

The United States recognizes 192 countries. Suffice it to say, each country has its own rules and regulations for entry. The U.S. Department of State is the official source for passport and visa requirements. Contact information is available online at the U.S. National Passport Information Center, including a help line at (877) 4USA-PPT. The agency suggests you allow 4-6 weeks for passport processing.
